Who’s it for?
Extreme Youth Camp is for any young people in Years 7-10.
When is it?
Extreme Camp begins Monday 16th April at 2.30pm and finishes Wednesday 18th April at 3.30pm.
Who is running the camp?
The Parramatta and Sydney Dioceses are collaborating to bring to our young people the unique combined Diocesan youth camp 'Faith to the Extreme'. The Diocesan Youth Ministries are made up of professional staff and volunteers who are thoroughly trained in youth ministry. We will use a wide variety of mediums including interactive activities, music, multimedia, drama and testimony to communicate to young people the riches of their faith, and how it applies to daily living.
How do I get there?
Chartered buses will be departing from two Locations on Monday 16th April:
St Dominic's, Flemington, (Cnr Hornsey Rd & The Crescent Flemington, right opposite flemington train station) at 2.30pm. St Patrick's, Blacktown (51-59 Allawah Street Blacktown) at 3.00pm (please arrive half an hour early to ensure we depart on time!). Buses will return Wednesday 18th April arriving at Blacktown 3.00pm and Flemington 3.30pm.
What is the cost?
The camp will cost $120. This covers accommodation, transport, meals and activities. If finance is a problem, please do not hesitate to contact Annabel on 9764 4357 to discuss in strictest confidence. Please make cheques payable to “Catholic Youth Services”.
What should I bring?
Sleeping bag or doona (extra blanket if cold), bottom sheet, pillow, toiletries, towel, swimmers, comfortable clothing and shoes. We also suggest you bring a torch and a beanie for the nights. We strongly advise you to bring an old set of clothes and pair of shoes that you don’t mind getting wet and dirty in our group challenges. We also advise you to bring a plastic bag to put your wet and dirty items in afterwards. We advise participants to leave all valuables at home. The Parramatta and Sydney dioceses will not be liable for any loss or damage to property during the camp.
What’s on the program?
We are keen for the programme to be a surprise for the participants however we are sure they will have heaps of fun getting to know others through great activities. They will share and discuss aspects of their faith and experience God in a way they may never have thought possible!!! We are sure you will trust that we have many years experience leading young people to Christ. It is our heart to be counter-cultural and your young people who attend will leave with a richer understanding of Christ's love for them.
Child Protection and Safety
The Parramatta and Sydney dioceses believe that genuine concern for the safety of all participants of 'Faith to the Extreme' is of the utmost importance. All staff and volunteers have undergone child protection checks and careful screening, ensuring the highest level of safety for your child.
