"iBelieve"

Who’s it for?
“iBelieve” is for young people in Years 7-10.

When is it?
“iBelieve” begins Monday 22 April at 8:00am and finishes Wednesday 24 April at 3:30pm.

Where is it?

It will be held at Blue Gum Lodge, Springwood.

Who is running the camp?
CYS consists of professional staff and volunteers who are trained in youth ministry. We will use a wide variety of mediums including music, interactive activities, multimedia, drama and testimony to communicate to young people the riches of their faith, and how it applies to daily living.

How do I get there?
A chartered bus will be departing from the office of Catholic Youth Services at 9:00am on Monday 22 April. The office is located at 108 The Crescent Flemington, right opposite Flemington train station. We ask attendees to start arriving from 8:00am. Buses will return Wednesday 24th arriving at Flemington at 3:30pm.

What is the cost?
The camp will cost $120. This covers accommodation, transport, meals and activities. If finance is a problem, please contact the CYS office on 9764 4357 to discuss in strictest confidence. Please make cheques payable to “Catholic Youth Services”.

What should I bring?
Sleeping bag (extra blankets available), bottom sheet, pillow case (pillow provided, but kids may wish to bring their own), toiletries, towel, swimmers (see note below), comfortable clothing and shoes. We also suggest you bring a torch and a beanie for the nights. We strongly advise you to bring an old set of clothes and pair of shoes that you don’t mind getting wet and dirty in our group challenges. Bring a plastic bag to put your wet and dirty items in afterwards. We ask that all participants leave valuables such as iPods at home. The Sydney Archdiocese will not be liable for any loss or damage to property during the camp.  NOTE: no bikinis/speedos are to be brought and attendees are asked to bring swim shorts and swim shirts if possible (or at least a one piece for the girls). This requirement is an important part of encouraging teens to put their faith in action and we appreciate your support and cooperation.

What’s on the program?
We are keen for the program to be a surprise for the participants however we are sure they will have lots of fun getting to know others through great activities. They will share and discuss aspects of their faith and experience God in a way they may never have thought possible!!! Being counter-cultural is at the heart of what we do and your young people who attend will leave with a richer understanding of Christ's love for them. This April camp’s theme has been inspired by the Year of Faith, and aims to reintroduce our teens to the amazing gift of faith they’ve received. We hope to show them how this gift can be opened time and time again to reveal more and more how much Christ calls each one of them to a deeper relationship with him – even at their age!

Child Protection and Safety
The Sydney Archdiocese believes that genuine concern for the safety of all participants on our camp is of the utmost importance. All staff and volunteers have undergone child protection checks and careful screening.
